Salvation

How To Be Saved

I must begin by explaining the reason I chose this background for this page of my web site. Hebrews 9:22 tells us "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission (of sins). I added (of sins) to carry the context of what is being spoken of, it is found in verse 9:28. Now the purpose of this web page, How to obtain the free gift of salvation.

The Bible is the Guide Book for those that wish to please the LORD with their lives. Within its text are found helps and direction for every application in life that we face. The Bible also gives the most important information to those that wish to receive it. How to get to Heaven. The most common scriptures used are referred to as the Roman's Road. This title is used as all the text comes from the book of Romans. It is important to realize that God looks on the heart. When man sees only the outward appearances, God sees the true intentions and motivations.
To begin with you must realize that you (everyone) have fallen short of God's holiness, because of sin that is in your life. The Word of God declares that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all might come to repentance. This is found in 2nd Peter 3:9. So this verse shows us that there has to be a change of direction in our lives. We have to be willing to give God, HIS rightful place. To repent is to head in a different direction, the idea behind this word is like turning 180 degrees. This idea can be applied to every application in our lives, but most specifically when it comes to eternity we need to trust HIM for our salvation. Romans 3:23 says this "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" and we read in  Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" So since none are righteous, or worthy enough to get to heaven of their own merit, and have fallen short of God's glory as the scriptures declare, we must follow what God instructs us to do
if we wish someday to go there. Romans 5:12 tells us where sin began, and how it affects us "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" This man was Adam, and we all are descendents of Adam and Eve, resulting in our sin nature. The scripture also tell us what the penalty of sin is; this is found in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." This verse says alot. Wages - the payment for something earned; when we sin we earn the reward of such actions, unfortunately it is death. A Gift is something not earned or deserved, but it is received when given to someone if they choose to accept it. As we have seen earlier we all have sinned and earned death the penalty of our sin. However God has provided a gift to be accepted by us, through the person of Jesus Christ. That gift is Eternal Life. This verse also says through Jesus Christ........through, this means by way of, we see this more clearly in Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Eternal life is obtained by way of Christ's death, the shedding of His blood. There is so much I could say here about types in the Bible and how Christ fulfilled all of them. How HE had to die the way HE did to provide salvation to those of us that accept His sacrifice. Let me just say that God worked a miracle to provided this provision to us. Romans 10:9 - 13 tell us "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." We see here however that Jesus Christ has a title, and that title is LORD. When I think of the title LORD I usually think of it in regard to the old English lords, where the maids would respond "yes, my lord". But that is very much a good example of who Christ is. Not the selfish bulling types but the one that has owner ship, control, AUTHORITY. To receive eternal life Jesus Christ has to be your Lord. If you are willing to accept this gift of God, Salvation, you must Give Christ, HIS rightful place in your life. He must be your Lord. You must be willing to die to self, and selfish desires, (remember the definition of repentance I explained earlier) and bury them, and from this point on Live, to walk in a new life, pleasing to God. I am not suggesting that you will never do wrong again. I would never leave you to believe such a lie. However your life should be one that you live, with all that is in you as much as possible, pleasing to GOD. This may sound to hard and to be honest it probably would be if you didn't have help from God. He will help you in more ways than can be explained, or even known. Accept HIM today.

If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord, you need to ask him to in prayer. Just humbly bow your head and with as much honesty as you have, tell Him that you are sorry for living your life the way you have, and all the wrong you have done. That you promise to do the best you can, with HIS help, to live for HIM and do what is right. That you accept that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He died for you and your sin debt. Then ask Him to save you and be your Lord.
If you do this according to the scriptures you are a Child of God. Remember that God knows the heart. And yours has to be true, if not you are not a child of His.

If you prayed a prayer asking God to SAVE you and be your Lord.
Please e-mail me and let me know so I may rejoice with you and Thank God for this, another miracle.
